Chocolate Gingerbread Waffles

These can be eaten as a breakfast dish, but they are really more of a dessert in my opinion.  Either way they are a great holiday meal, and if you are trying to enjoy the season with all of its clove, cinnamon and ginger flavors this waffle is packed with them.  For the dessert version I topped them with butterscotch morsels and powdered sugar.  Otherwise they would be more of a normal waffle with butter and syrup.  These do not have a lot of sugar in them so you will want to add a sweetener of some kind...unless, like some, you like bitter chocolate.

2 eggs
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 tablespoon white sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa

Add all ingredients in the order listed to the blender.  Puree and cook as per your waffle iron's instructions.
