These make hearty appetizers and can also be eaten cold, the next day. If you buy the dinner rolls that are large loaves only partially cut through, you can remove the entire "top" and spread the ham salad all at once. This makes for a much quicker dish.
Warm Ham Salad Sandwiches
1/2 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 onion, grated
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons prepared Dijon-style mustard
16 dinner rolls
1 pound cooked ham
6 oz cream cheese
1/2 lb bacon, cooked and cut to 1 inch pieces
Chop ham and butter in food processor. Add poppy seeds, onion, worcestershire sauce, and mustard. When creamy and thoroughly mixed spread 1 1/2 tablespoons on 1/2 of each dinner roll. Spread other half of roll with 2 teaspoons of cream cheese and top with bacon. Close rolls and place on cookie sheet. Heat in 350F oven until slightly toasted and warm, about 5-7minutes.
