I warn you...
If you are trying to lose weight or would rather not gain any, do not make these brownies. It takes more will power than the average human has to resist these. The children in my house have named them Crack Brownies due to their addictive qualities.
I believe this is a creation from the southern cook, Paula Dean, although we have altered it a bit. She used chocolate covered toffee candy instead of Hershey’s Cookies and Cream. You can use any candy that you like and in the picture my daughter got creative and added caramels to the top. I would suggest cutting them into fourths if you choose to do this.
2 boxes of brownie mix
Cookies and Cream candy bars (enough to cover the top of the one layer of brownies in a 9x3 pan)
Prepare brownies as directed. Pour 1/2 of the batter into 9x13 inch pan and layer with candy bars. Cover this layer with the remaining brownie mix. Bake a little longer than instructed on the box as this is a thicker brownie. Gently shake the pan to make sure it is firm in the center before removing from the oven. Enjoy and then either go run a few miles or distract yourself with some other hobby so you will not feel the guilt.
